- 16 states make use of the sixth edition of the AMA Guide to Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
- 12 states make use of the fifth edition of the AMA Guide to Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
- 8 states make use of the fourth edition of the AMA Guide to Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
- 7 states use their own state specific guidelines, and six states don't specify use of any guidelines.
